VideoBite Privacy Policy

VideoBite ("VideoBite," "we," "our," or "us") provides software and related services that help creators transform long-form videos into short-form clips (the "Services"). Protecting your privacy is core to what we do. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when we share it, and the choices you have.

Note: This document is a summary of our practices and does not constitute legal advice.

1. Scope

This Policy applies to:

videobite.app and any sub-domains we operate;
our web application, APIs, browser extensions, widgets, and customer-support channels.

It does not apply to third-party websites or services that link to or from VideoBite.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

Account details – name, email address, password (hashed), optional phone number.
Payment details – limited billing information processed by our payment provider (we never see full card numbers).
Content uploads – videos, audio, images, captions, and other files you submit.
Support communications – messages, attachments, or feedback you send us.

2.2 Information We Collect Automatically

Usage and device data – IP address, browser type, operating system, referring pages, time-stamps, and interactions with our site.
Cookies or similar technologies – small data files used for authentication, security, and analytics.

2.3 Information We Derive

In order to provide the Services we may generate derivative data such as transcripts, clip timestamps, or technical metadata. These derivatives are tied to your account but are not shared publicly unless you choose to publish them.

We do not deliberately collect sensitive personal information (e.g., health, biometric, or government-ID data) and ask that you refrain from uploading such data.

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We do not use customer videos to train machine-learning models without your explicit permission.

4. Sharing & Disclosure

Service providers – trusted companies that perform services for us (cloud hosting, payment processing, email delivery, analytics). Each provider is bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
Legal compliance – if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of VideoBite, our users, or others.
Business transfers – in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (you will be notified of any change in control).

We never allow service providers to use your information for their own marketing.

5. International Data Transfers

VideoBite is headquartered in the United States. If you are located outside the U.S., your information may be transferred to, stored, or processed in the U.S. or other countries where we or our providers operate. We use Standard Contractual Clauses or other approved safeguards when required by law.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

Access the personal data we hold about you;
Correct inaccurate data;
Delete your data or restrict certain uses;
Object to processing or withdraw consent;
Obtain a copy of your data in portable format;
Opt out of marketing communications.

Residents of California, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and other jurisdictions may have additional rights under local privacy laws. VideoBite does not sell or "share" personal information as defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA).

7. Data Retention

We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including to meet legal or reporting requirements. Uploaded media files are deleted within a reasonable time after you remove them or close your account, subject to unavoidable backup cycles.

8. Security

We employ industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information. These include encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, routine monitoring, and periodic security assessments. No system is completely secure, so we encourage you to use a strong, unique password and enable multi-factor authentication.

9. Children's Privacy

VideoBite is not directed to children under 13 (or 16 in some regions). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently done so, please contact us so we can delete the information.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If material changes are made, we will provide notice—such as by email or an in-app banner—at least 14 days before they take effect. The "Last updated" date will always reflect the latest revision.
